Civil Litigation

Civil litigation is the process by which civil matters , including monetary components and not criminal, are disputed in court of law. Civil disputes can involve tortious actions, like accidents, medical malpractice as well as situations dealing with relationships between people, or entities, such as a contract dispute. For example, a doctor performing services for his patient has a contract with the patients insurance company. In case, the insurance company refuses to honor their part of the contract and pay the doctor for his performed services, the doctor has a civil cause of action for breach of contract against the insurance company. Such scheme is well illustrated in no-fault and workers compensation environments with the doctors fighting for their contractual right to be reimbursed.
