Real estate is all around us, it attracts potential buyers--promising them an American dream of owning your own home, it competes with the stock market for the investment purposes, it provides certain status in life. Indeed, the word "gentleman" in England was devised to describe a property owner. In today turbulent market real estate is believed to be a life saver by others and a complete waste of money by others. The truth, of course, is somewhere in the middle: in today's market it is very hard to justify payment of rent for an average , not well maintained apartment, however one should consider the price of the property, interest rate and other factors for the investment to make sense. A potential buyer should be prepared to consult with professionals including accountant, lawyer and possibly banker in his quest to become a "gentleman".
